About Couch Lag
Updated
Couch Lag is a small independent project. It helps people stream games from a gaming PC to a TV, Steam Deck, Apple TV or other device with Moonlight and a Sunshine-compatible host, and fix the problems that get in the way, like stutter, black screens, error 503, HDR colours and controllers.
What it is
- The app: a free planner and step-by-step troubleshooter that runs in your browser and keeps your answers on your device.
- The guides: short, sourced answers to the problems people hit most, each with a link that opens the app on that problem.
- No accounts. Visits are counted with cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics, which reports only aggregate totals. See the privacy policy.
How the guides are checked
- Every guide is based on the official Moonlight and Sunshine documentation, their settings and source code, and project READMEs. Each page lists its sources.
- Each guide shows the date it was checked and the versions it was checked against, plus an “Updated” date that changes when the guide’s content changes.
- Where the docs don’t say something, the guides say so instead of guessing, and community projects are labelled as unofficial.
- Found a mistake or something out of date? Please report it through the contact page.
How it’s funded
Couch Lag is free. There are no ads, sponsorships or paid placements, and no company pays for what the guides recommend.
Independence
Couch Lag isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Moonlight, LizardByte (Sunshine), Apollo, Vibepollo, Valve, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA or Apple. Product names are trademarks of their owners. See the disclaimer and the privacy policy.
